Bond Hearing Scheduled for Today for Indicted Ouachita County Judge

A bond hearing will be held later today for a Ouachita County Judge indicted on federal charges.

The bond hearing is scheduled for 1p at the federal courthouse in Hot Springs.

Judge James Hesterly is accused of bribery and conspiracy charges involving FEMA.

A bodn hearing was scheduled for last Tuesday at the federal courthouse in El Dorado, but Hesterly waived that hearing.

He's been held without bond at the Union County jail since he turned himself in nearly two weeks ago.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Hesterly was involved in awarding a FEMA disaster relief contract to co-defendant Harry Clemons in return for a contribution for his 2010 re-election campaign for Ouachita County Judge.

Clemons has been ordered not to have contact with any of the witnesses.

A trial date has been set for March 13th in El Dorado for both Clemons and Judge James Hesterly.
