WEST MONROE, LA -- In the 5th Congressional District race, the Tea Party of Louisiana is throwing its support behind Republican Zach Dasher.

Meanwhile, Congressman Bill Cassidy is celebrating the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business in the U.S. Senate race. The group threw its support behind incumbent Democrat Mary Landrieu in 2008.

Next week, former Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney will host a fundraiser for Cassidy's senate campaign. The fundraiser will take place in New Orleans on October 3. Earlier this month former President Bill Clinton held a fundraiser for Landrieu.

Rob Maness is also getting a boost to his campaign. This Saturday, former Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin will campaign with Maness during an event Saturday in south Louisiana. Palin has already endorsed Maness in the Senate race.

And a new Public Policy Poll shows Republicans leading in key races in Arkansas.

Republican Tom Cotton is leading Democrat Mark Pryor 43% to 38% in the U.S. Senate race and Republican Asa Hutchinson is leading Democrat Mike Ross 44% to 38%.

The same poll shows an overwhelming number of Arkansans supporting the minimum increase. 68% of voters support the initiative, compared to 24% of those opposed.
