VIDEO: 35 Million Travelers Expected for July 4 Holiday

WEST MONROE -- Look for more drivers on the road this July 4th holiday.

Despite rising gas prices, AAA expects nearly 35-million people to drive at least 50 miles between July 1st and July 6th.

That’s the highest number in 7 years.

As for air travel, more than 3-point-one-million people are expected to take to they skies during the holiday period.

Overall, holiday travel is projected to be 6-percent higher than last year.

Analysts say the increase can be attributed to an improving economy.
