UPDATE: Pelicans' Anthony Davis to Miss 4-6 Weeks with Broken Hand

UPDATE: Pelicans forward Anthony Davis is expected to miss the next 4-6 with a broken left hand.

The injury happened on Sunday in the first quarter of the game against the Knicks.

Davis was averaging over 18 points and 10 rebounds a game.

Entering play Sunday, he led the NBA with 3.9 blocks per game.

The Pelicans are currently 9-8 on the young season.

New Orleans -- New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis has broken his left hand during a game against the New York Knicks, and the team said a timetable for his return is to be determined.

The second-year star was injured in the first half Sunday. The Pelicans said the injury was a non-displaced fracture of his hand.

Davis was averaging 19.6 points and 10.6 rebounds entering the game.
