(KEITHVILLE, LA) -- Over 150 chimpanzees live at Chimp Haven in North Louisiana, but there are plans for many more.  The sanctuary hopes that number will be over 200, possibly by this fall.

As a sanctuary, Chimp Haven is not regularly open for visitors, however, there are limited dates when the public is welcome.  There are two dates in the near future, May 18th and June 15th, 2013.

Chimp Haven is a non-profit organization, donations are tax deductible.  You can also sponsor a chimpanzee.  For more information visit www.chimphaven.org

KTVE NBC 10's Heather Parker along with photojournalist Justin Fletcher show us what's in store
for chimpanzees like Conan, Henry, Tika and their friends that are still waiting to come home to rescue.
