Political Minute - July 3, 2014
KTVE/KARD -- In this July 3rd edition of Political Minute, Cassidy and Landrieu are tied in a new poll, an invite from Maness and Vitter is sitting well for the 2015 governor's race.
Public Policy Poll released a new poll of the Louisiana senate race and found the incumbent senator Mary Landrieu and republican congressman Bill Cassidy are likely to advance to a December runoff election.
But that matchup between the two is a toss up.
Both are tied at 47 percent, with a majority of those polled would move to Cassidy after supporting Paul Hollis or Rob Maness in November.
Speaking of Maness, he's started what he's calling "Solutions For Us" town hall meetings this week.
Maness plans to hold 50 town hall meetings this summer.
During his first town hall this week, Maness invited Landrieu and Cassidy to join him to talk about the direction of the country and policies that are in place.
And the Louisiana governor's race isn't taking place until 2015, but senator David Vitter continues to be the early favorite.
In a match up with potential democratic opponent and state representative John Bel Edwards, he leads big at 52 to 30.
In a potential matchup with republican lieutenant governor Jay Dardenne, he leads 40 to 34.
