A super PAC supporting Vitter and his political future raised $1.5 million last year.

Louisiana Treasurer John Kennedy filed his campaign finance report with the state Ethics Administration.
The Republican raised more than $835,000 last year and has nearly $3 million sitting in the bank.
And the Louisiana Legislative Session doesn't start until March 10, but bills are steadily being filed.
Two house bills that stand out deal with guns.
One would allow law enforcement officers to carry firearms inside bars and establishments that serve alcohol whether or not they’re on duty.
And another would require all gun buyers to pass a firearms safety course.
