"And it is kind of like a dating website in a way. It better links employers to job seekers," says Sue Nicholson, the President of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce.
Paul West, the executive director of the NOVA Workforce Northeast Louisiana, says,"It opens up another opportunity for those trying to enter the workforce. Its another network."
Website users are able to create profiles that list specific skills and qualifications.
The LED says Louisiana Job Connection matches job seekers and employers with the best jobs and candidates based on the profiles.
"It is much more focused and direct, so it is going to save employers a lot of time. Trust me for employers time is money," says Nicholson.
"Its a better way to match those skills with the individual seeking work in the community," says West.
The Monroe Chamber of Commerce and the NOVA Workforce of Northeast Louisiana say this website is a great resource for the community.
"It really opens a much broader market for both employers and job seekers," says Nicholson.
"The excitement for the community is that the website provides a better streamlined opportunity for employers and job seekers," says West.
NOVA says they encourage both employers and job seekers to take advantage of the exciting new tool.
