This weekend is the hurricane preparedness sale tax holiday in Louisiana so everyone gearing up on summer items can also save some money while investing in things that will keep them safe during hurricane season.

THE store director at Academy Sports says they have marked down prices on weather radios, coolers, tarps, flash lights and more for the hurricane sales tax holiday.

He adds that the items are a great deal and will keep you save from crazy weather. "Its really good for people to come out and plan to save some money . Everyone is thinking about Memorial Day but you also want to make sure you're prepared for the bad weather when it hit," says John Balsmo, the Academy store director.

Although a great deal, Academy says they have not seen many people take advantage of the low prices and stock up on the sale items.

The sales tax holiday continues May 25th, so there is still a chance to go out and buy storm items for a low cost.
