Interim Monroe City Engineer Resigns

Mayor Jamie Mayo accepted the resignation of Interim City Engineer Columbus "Buddy" Smith, May 1, 2013.

No reason for the resignation was given. 

Departmental operations will continue to flow until a new City Engineer has been hired.

Professional Engineer Richard Paulus, a 5-year city employee with 52 years of experience in the engineering field, will serve as Acting City Engineer. He will be able to approve and sign off on any necessary plans and paperwork.
Arthur Holland, a 31-year city employee will continue serving as project manager and oversee the daily operations of the infrastructure program.
No time table has been set to name a new City Engineer.
