Woman facing additional charges after removing marijuana from her body during booking

MONROE, La. - A Monroe woman arrested for an outstanding warrant is facing now facing a new drug charge after exposing marijuana hidden in her body. 

Jessica Ross, 27 of Monroe was arrested Monday, November 13, 2017.

According to the arrest report, a Monroe police officer was at Wood Street as Ross was booked on a warrant for arrest. 

Ross told the booking officer she needed to go to the restroom and was allowed to use the restroom in the finger print room. 

According to the report, the booking officer advised the arresting officer that Ross "removed a small clear plastic bag that contained suspected marijuana from inside her Virginia." That is not a typo. That is what the police report says.

Ross was advised of her rights and said the marijuana was not hers.

She was then transported to Ouachita Correctional Center on the new charges of certain activities regarding contraband in penal institutions prohibited. 

The marijuana was logged into evidence by the Monroe Police Department. 

Bond has not yet been set.
