UNION Parish - A man found sleeping in his vehicle behind Spearsville High School on Valentine’s Day morning ended up being booked into the Union Parish Detention Center on five charges, three of them felonies.
Christopher Lane Millien, 42, of 599 Green Loop Rd., Spearsville, faces felony charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a legend drug and public intimidation. He also was booked on misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond on the felony charges was set at $4,500. He was to be released on his own recognizance on the misdemeanors.
Sheriff Dusty Gates said it was about 4:30 in the morning when a deputy patrolling the area saw Millien’s vehicle parked behind the school. The school has been burglarized numerous times so the deputy was checking it out, the sheriff said.
Gates said the deputy found Millien asleep in the car and had difficulty awakening him. When the car door was opened, the deputy smelled marijuana and alcohol. The deputy also stated that Millien was confused and disoriented. He told the deputy that he had parked behind the school because he and his girlfriend had been arguing.
Also found on the grass outside the passenger’s side door was a needle that was on top of the grass where the vehicle had traveled and it was not pushed into the ground. The deputy said that indicated it was thrown from the vehicle after it was parked.
Found inside a container in plain view when Millien got out of the car was a white crystal-like substance thought to be meth. Another deputy arriving on the scene also found a hand rolled cigarette thought to contain marijuana. Also located was two oval shaped pills stamped E85, penicillin potassium that is described as a legend drug.
The deputies also reported that Millien threatened their jobs and made other threats.
