UPDATE: Morehouse Parish farm battery thieves arrested

BASTROP, La - UPDATE (9/20/17): Two were arrested in a recent battery theft in Morehouse Parish that happened September 6, 2017.

On Friday, September 15, 2017, Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office arrested two subjects, Matthew Counts and Deroy Fraction. 

Both were charged with felony theft and conspiracy to commit felony theft. They were booked into the Morehouse Parish Jail. 

More arrests are pending.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A pair of thieves were caught on a local farmer's surveillance footage, stealing thousands of dollars worth of farm equipment batteries.

The Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Department say at approximately 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 two men approached the farm where they stole the batteries in a dark SUV.

The crime took place along Grabault Road, and roughly $1,200 worth of equipment was stolen.

Police are still investigating the incident and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office at (318) 281-4141 or CrimeStoppers of Morehouse at (318) 281-0050. 

CrimeStoppers is offering up to $2,000 for any information that may lead to an arrest or conviction of suspects in this case.
