April is national Autism Awareness month.
The ULM autism center held it's annual Zumbathon Fundraiser. Many people came out to show their support and to get their workout in. All proceeds from today's event help benefit the ULM autism center for research and other outreaches.
Dr. David Irwin says his goal is to start a parent support group to show that all parents are in this together.
"What we would want is to let parents know that they're not alone, that when you have a child with Autism sometimes you can feel very alone and that you're not alone, that there are people out there that can help you and feel the exact same thing that you and your family are going through."
