Trespassing complaint lands two in jail on drug charges

UNION PARISH - Two Union Parish residents have been arrested by sheriff’s deputies after receiving a complaint about trespassing.

When deputies arrived at the Arthur McDaniel Road address they found Lance D. Davis, 37, of 1915 Dean-Haile Rd., Marion, and Shelley Deanne Cascio, 30, of 653 Arthur McDaniel Rd., Downsville.

As deputies spoke with Davis outside the residence and Cascio on the inside, one of the deputies reported seeing Cascio pushing a bag under the couch cushion on which she was sitting. It was learned that Cascio had an outstanding warrant against her in Lincoln Parish so she was arrested.

The couch, where deputies had originally seen the two sitting together upon their arrival, was searched with 2.59 grams of methamphetamine and .86 grams of marijuana being found underneath the cushion.

Sheriff Dusty Gates said both were booked March 15 into the parish detention center on charges of possession with intent to distribute meth and simple possession of marijuana.

Their bonds were set at $16,000 each.
