Tallulah, LA - Late Thursday night a young man was gunned down in his hometown of Tallulah. Twenty-six year old Marcus Oliver was walking in the 700 block of West Washington Street when a dark SUV drove by spewing bullets at him. He leaves behind two young children.
A witness says the truck was seen earlier circling the neighborhood and reappeared as Oliver was standing on the corner talking to his girlfriend on the phone.
Investigator James Rash from Madison Parish Sheriff's Office says after Oliver was shot he fell into a nearby ditch. He then crawled several feet to a nearby car and was driven to Madison Parish Hospital where he later died.
Police still don't have a suspect in custody and are asking from help from the public.
"We began our investigation last night and we are still currently involved in that investigation. We are currently investigating all leads right now at this time. And we ask that anybody that has any information about this shooting please contact the Madison Perish Sheriff's Office," says Rash.
This is a developing story and will be updated once more information becomes available.
