Sterlington manhunt ends with the capture and arrest of suspect

A suspect was taken into custody Saturday morning following a massive overnight search in Sterlington. 

Sterlington Police Chief Barry Bonner, said 18-year-old John Fontaine Eave of Bastrop, was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center. He faces multiple charges including theft of a Motor Vehicle; Resisting an Officer; Failure to report an accident and careless operation and driving without a license.

Bonner says Eave allegedly  stole a car in Morehouse Parish and crashed the car into another vehicle parked at a Chevron station in Ouachita Parish .

Eave took off on foot and lead the Sterlington Police Department on a chase.

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State Police assisted during the search.
