MONROE, La. -
One of the twin cities' high schools is lending a hand to Hurricane Harvey victims.
Ashlyn Hilburn, a student at St. Frederick High School, coordinated and held a school wide food drive to help those in need.
"There's just people in need and we flooded last year so we all wanted to figure out a way that we could help them," says Hilburn.
"You know, last year the food bank was a first responder when North Louisiana went through the floods and to be able to return the favor to our neighboring state that helped so much then is just a big honor for us. You know, we always tend to lend a hand to those struggling," says Ashley White, Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana Development Officer.
