STERLINGTON, La. - A Sterlington Sonic employee has been arrested on multiple drug charges after a tip was sent in to law enforcement.
Jaetarius Davis, 22 of Monroe, was arrested Tuesday, November 7, 2017.
Sterlington Police received complaints that some of the workers at the Sterlington Sonic were involved in narcotic activity.
Officers observed a white Impala leaving the business with a license plate cover over the vehicles temporary tag.
Officers stopped the vehicle in the 10,000 block of Highway 165 north and smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Davis was asked to exit the vehicle.
He then admitted to smoking marijuana to the officers.
Davis gave officers consent to search his vehicle.
Officers found a burnt marijuana cigarette, loose marijuana, a metal marijuana grinder and a backpack containing two halves of suspected ecstasy tablets.
Davis confirmed the backpack was his.
Davis has been charged with improper display of plates, possession of schedule I, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His bond has been set at $5,400.00.
