Ruston man arrested on multiple drug charges

RUSTON, La. - Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team (LPNET) Agents have arrested a Ruston man on multiple drug charges.

Joseph Battle, 51 of Ruston, was arrested at the Lincoln Parish Courthouse Annex where he was scheduled to take a drug screen. The moment Battle was taken into custody members of LPNET, with the assistance of the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, served a search warrant at Battles residence located at 7003 Hwy 80 lot 244.

Inside the residence officials located:

10 grams of suspected methamphetamine

$140.00 in counterfeit currency

Assorted drug paraphernalia. (baggies, scales, etc.)

An RG revolver with an obliterated serial number

Rossi .357 revolver

Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol which was discovered to be stolen

17 capsules of a legend drug

10 grams of marijuana

30 packages of synthetic marijuana

On Battles person Agents found:

plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana

Inside his vehicle:

117 tablets of suspected ecstasy

8 packages of synthetic marijuana

Battle was also charged with a warrant for distribution of marijuana

Stone said “Investigators assigned to The Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team (LPNET) did a great job. They are working many cases simultaneously all over the parish“

LPNET is a joint task force staffed by the Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Ruston Police Department, Grambling Police Department and the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department.
