RUSTON, La. - On Tuesday, October 17th, a fire broke out that destroyed the Head Start Center in Ruston. Since that time, Lincoln Parish school system administrators have been working to find alternate housing for students displaced by the fire.
On Wednesday, November 8th, Rick Breen's Rapid Lube donated ten dollars ($10) from every oil change at its Ruston location from Monday, October 30th through Saturday, November 4th to benefit relief efforts for the Paul E. Slaton Head Start in Ruston. In total, $2,750 was donated by Rick Breen's Rapid Lube as a result of the fundraiser.
"The Head Start Center meant a lot to people in Ruston, and the children displaced by the fire need the support of Lincoln Parish to transition back into the classroom. Our goal was to raise enough money to help the community with the resources these children need. We are extremely proud of the show of support by our Ruston customers," said Matt Talbert, General Manager of Rick Breen's.
Rick Breen's Rapid Lube is located at 1730 Farmerville Highway in Ruston.
