MONROE, La. - Relay For Life of Northeast Louisiana is looking to raise thousands of dollars for cancer research.
Tonight, hundreds will be partying for a cure for cancer at the annual event in Downtown Monroe.
It's a time to honor survivors, pay tribute to those who have lost the battle and current fighters.
There will be a survivor walk, luminaria ceremony, and performances from different cheer team in the area.
This year the group is hoping to raise $100,000 for cancer research and patient services in Northeast Louisiana. So, far they has managed to raise more than $50,000.
There will also be a Glow Run 5K at Chennault Park starting at 8 p.m. all proceeds will go to the Relay For Life.
It's free to enter from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the old Coco-Cola Warehouse located in the 300 block of Walnut Street.
Donations will be accepted.
