Potential LSU-Ochsner partnership moving forward

(The News-Star) - According to our partners at The News-Star, the first formal commitments that would lead Ochsner Health System to take over the state's safety net hospitals in Monroe and Shreveport from BRF in conjunction with LSU could be signed before Christmas, legislators and the governor's office confirmed Friday.

LSU President King Alexander reported his intention to sign a non-binding letter of intent to the LSU Board of Supervisors in a closed-door executive session Friday afternoon in New Orleans, but the university declined to comment further.

The non-binding letters of intent among Ochsner, LSU, the state and BRF would set the stage for detailed cooperative endeavor agreements to come later.
