UPDATE: Parents, suspect arrested in rape case

CATAHOULA Parish - UPDATE [10/17/2017 9:30 p.m.]

Kids toys litter the grass of a trailer park in Jonesville.

The outside may look unsuspecting, but authorities said what happened behind closed doors was nothing short of horrifying.

"It was shocking because I never figured that would be happening, especially with little ones and I have three of my own and I would kill someone if they done it to mine," neighbor Ruby Ray said.

Catahoula Parish Sheriff's Deputies said that 27-year-old Joshua Wright was accused of raping three children in this neighborhood for nearly three months. Authorities said when Wright was questioned by investigators, he confessed to the crime.

The kids were only 7, 8 and 12 years old.

"I couldn't because I'd probably be in jail for murder because there is no way in heck that somebody puts their hands on my kids," Ray added.

Wright had recently moved into the family's home.

Authorities believe the two parents, Brandy Accardo and Casey Garrington, knew what Wright was doing, but didn't do anything about it.

On top of that, investigators claim that the parents were using meth in front of their kids.

"It just hurts me as a mom, you know, to think of how could someone lay there at night and know if someone's hurting their child and didn't do nothing. I couldn't," Ray said.

Deputies said the three children are now in state custody.

Neighbors told us that they're thankful the kids are now in better hands.

"I'm used to seeing them everyday, romping around, getting on the school bus. I'm going to miss that everyday though," Ray said.

Wright was charged with 6 counts of first degree rape and 13 counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile. He's currently being held on a $280,000 bond.

Garrington and Accardo face charges including improper supervision of a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and illegal use and possession of CDS in the presence of minors. The two are being held on a $90,000 bond.
