NWS confirms 2 tornadoes hit northeast Louisiana Friday night

KTVE/KARD - The National Weather Service in Shreveport confirms 2 tornadoes touched down in northeast Louisiana during Friday night's severe weather.

 

The first tornado touched down around 11:49pm CDT near the community of Wyatt in Winn Parish. The tornado touched down along LA 505 just west of Wyatt and snapped several trees. The tornado was on the ground for less than a minute, but was able to travel over a mile and ended 6 miles SSW of Jonesboro in Jackson Parish.

 

That tornado has been rated an EF-1 and likely had winds between 95-105 mph.

 

The second tornado touched down around 11:54pm CDT near the community of Weston in Jackson Parish. Storm teams say the tornado touched down along LA 505 southwest of Weston-- the storm snapped several trees and overturned a metal outbuilding.

 

That tornado has been rated an EF-1 and was on the ground for a total of 10 minutes. It likely had winds between 100-110 mph. It traveled nearly 7 miles through Jackson Parish.
