Most of Louisiana's congressional delegation votes against budget deal

WASHINGTON, D.C. - (2/9/2018) In an early morning vote, Congress approved a spending bill to reopen the government after a brief shutdown officially began at midnight. Louisiana's congressional delegation voted 3-5 against the deal.

The "ayes" votes were Ralph Abraham (R), Clay Higgins (R), and Steve Scalise (R). The "noes" were Garrett Graves (R), Mike Johnson (R), Cedric Richmond (D), and both of Louisiana's Senators Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy.

Before it passes, Rep. Steve Scalise, who is also the Majority Whip, tweeted his support for the bill, with the hastag #FundTheTroops
