Monroe teen arrested for having gun near high school campus

WEST MONROE, La. - A Monroe teen behind bars this morning after being arrested for carrying a loaded gun near Wossman High school. 

According to an arrest report Jacob Green was riding a bike near the school shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday August 31, 2017. 

The report states that Wossman's school resource officer told Green multiple times to leave the area since he wasn't a student. But green didn't comply with the instructions. 

Deputies were called and as Green was being taken into custody, deputies found a 22 Colt Revolver sticking out of his back pack.

The gun had 3 live rounds.

Green's arrest report says he told deputies that he didn't know the gun was in the bag and that he was at the school to see his girlfriend. 

He's facing charges of both criminal trespassing and carrying a firearm on school property.

His bond $10,200.
