Monroe Police searching for Subway robbery suspect

MONROE, La. (MPD) - Monroe Police are searching for the suspect accused of robbing a Subway restaurant in Monroe.

On April 20, 2017 at 3:15 pm a black male entered the Subway restaurant at 1605 Martin Luther King Jr Dr and sat down at a table. 

After a short period of time the subject approached the counter where he then placed an order. 

The subject walked over to the drink fountain where he filled up a cup. 

It was at this point the subject jumped over the counter producing a knife ordering the cash register to be opened. 

Once the register was opened he then proceeded to remove all of the cash and then fled the store. 

The subject is described as being a black male possibly in his 20’s. He was wearing a red ball cap with a black bill. 

He had on a white or light gray hooded sweatshirt with “Wossman” printed on the front; he was wearing dark colored pants or jeans and white tennis shoes.
