Monroe man behind bars, accused of trying to rape and beat his girlfriend

MONROE, La. - 36-year-old Albert  Barnard Haynes  is behind bars for allegedly trying to rape and beat his girlfriend.

According to police, Haynes broke into his girlfriends home and tried to have sex with her. The victim refused. 

Police say Haynes became aggressive and tried to pull down the victim's pants. He then punched her in the face while she tried calling 911 for help.

Police say once they arrived at the home, Haynes attempted to escape out of a back window.

Haynes is charged with second degree rape, second degree robbery, second degree battery, and aggravated burglary, and resisting an officer. His bond is  $250,500.00.
