Monroe maid accused of stealing and pawning thousands of dollars worth of jewelry

MONROE, La. - A woman working as a maid is accused of stealing jewelry worth thousands of dollars and pawning it.

Monroe police say 32 year old Rachell Demoss took 15 pieces of jewerly from a home she was cleaning.

The jewelry was valued between $5,000 and $25,000.

During an interview with police, they say Demoss told them she fooled her boyfriend into pawning the jewelry for $1,500-- saying she inherited it from her grandmother.

This isn't Demoss' first brush with the law.

She was charged with stealing a family member's credit card back in December in Caddo Parish.
