MONROE, La - Monroe City School Board members fresh off a conference in Denver, Colorado held a community meeting to share what they learned with parents.
Daryll Berry and Bill Willson say they look forward to conferences bc it's an opportunity to meet with professionals across the country and share best practices.
"Everytime we get the opportunity to go to a conference, the things that we learn, we bring back so that we can help our community, our schools, and we want to make sure that our kids get the best education possible," says Berry.
One of the best practices shared was a program called March 2 Success. It's designed to help students prepare and excel in academics in the classroom and beyond.
Lyneta Coats, a teacher at Carroll High School, has been using March 2 Success on and off for the last four years. She says the program has made a difference in her classroom.
"It's really great when a student takes a standardized test and you ask them how they did and they say, 'man, it was really easy this time.'"
March 2 Success can be used in the classroom or at home. All you have to do is visit the website, create a password and get started.
