MONROE, La. - According to our partners at The News-Star, about 100 people flocked to Flying Tiger Brewery in Monroe on Sunday night to cheer on Monroe Chef Cory Bahr for a "Food Network Star" watch party.
Fan cheered every time Bahr appeared on screen, and he provided some color commentary while watching. This week, the challenge was for the 12 contestants to team up in groups of four and create French cuisine and tablescapes inspired by Disney's "Beauty & the Beast."
Bahr was on a team with Trace Barnett, Addie Gundry and Amy Pottinger. They were assigned tea in the library and used romantic, fairy tale inspired decor with books and birds.
Bahr's lobster dish and his exuberant presentation earned kudos from judges Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis and guest judge Sandra Lee.
Toya Boudy and Nancy Manlove were eliminated, leaving 10 finalists.
Bahr will be out of town on June 18. Flying Tiger Brewery, 506 N. Second Street, will hold a watch party on other weeks as long as Bahr's competing, and Bahr will be live tweeting and interacting with viewers during the show. Bahr said he needs the community to vote for him early and often in the Fan Favorite competition.
