Mississippi man wanted for burning girlfriend arrested in Arkansas

MONROE COUNTY, Ark. (KARK) - Arkansas State Police have arrested a man accused of burning his girlfriend and leaving her on the side of a Mississippi highway.

According to Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison, 43-year-old Jerry Glenn Willis was found in Monroe County Friday.

Willis faces charges of attempted murder, felony taking of a motor vehicle and kidnapping.

Agents of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and other officers were looking for Willis for domestic aggravated assault and kidnapping after his girlfriend was found severely injured.

46-year-old Stacy Mitchell Frank is in critical condition in a Mississippi burn unit.

The preliminary investigation indicates Frank had been doused with gasoline, set afire, and left beside the road Wednesday night in Pearl River County Miss.

Sheriff Allison says Willis was attempting to destroy a vehicle belonging to Stacy Frank when he was taken into custody by ASP.

A dispatcher with the Monroe County Sheriff's office confirmed Willis is in their custody and said the extradition process is underway.
