Man Accused Of Revenge Porn Against Ex-Girlfriend

Ouachita Parish, La.-- - What were once intimate videos between a boyfriend and girlfriend have turned public, after arrest reports said a West Monroe man, Ryan Whittington, engaged in what legal specialists call 'Revenge Porn'.

"To post on the internet especially social media compromising photos, videos, usually of some form of some sexual act of a girlfriend who does not know that they've been photographed," Attorney and ULM Law Professor Bob Noel said.

Noel said it's an intentional violation of someone's privacy.

In this case, the victim's ex-boyfriend allegedly uploaded video's of the two on a pornography website called 'Pornhub' without her knowledge, or consent.

"Once it is out there in internet, it is completely impossible to bring it back," Noel added.

It's a reality that other analysts said comes with the growing capabilities of technology.

"Say a teenager might just show it to his buddies, but now that teenager can put it on Facebook, Instagram and now instead of ten people seeing it 10,000 people can see it," ULM Professor of Behavior and Social Sciences, Dr. Pamela Saulsberry said.

Arrest reports said that a week after discovering the original videos, the alleged victim noticed that more videos were on the website.

Dr. Saulsberry said the act can be a form of abuse and control.

"Relationship violence violence, that's also psychological abuse, that's also emotional abuse," she said.

"Reasonably, do you think that anyone would want this compromising picture being held by anybody else by you?" Dr. Saulsberry asked,

Brian Whittington is being held at OCC on a $35,000 bond.

He faces charges of cyberstalking and nonconconsensual disclosure of a private image.
