WEST MONROE, La. (The News-Star) - According to our partners at The News-Star, Three juveniles previously accused of second degree murder were temporarily released from Green Oaks Detention Center this week.
The release stemmed from a filing error within the Fourth Judicial District Attorney's Office.
District Attorney Steve Tew said the error will cause a short-term delay in the prosecution of the juveniles, ages 13, 14 and 15. All three were charged with second degree murder in connection with the homicide of Hunter Adams on Aug. 21.
He said when juveniles are detained there is only a short time period available for arraignment. Due to the filing issue, the time period passed, and the juveniles had to be released on house arrest pending new charges.
