Jonesboro teacher kisses pig to help student with cancer

JONESBORO, La. - Students and teachers at Weston High School in Jonesboro worked all week to raise funds to help out a friend and fellow classmate.

Chris Wages, a sophomore at Weston, has been recently diagnosed with cancer.

To help Wages out, the school decided to raise funds so he and his family wouldn't struggle with medical bills.

Each class worked to raise money throughout the week.

The best part? The teacher of the class that raises the most money has to kiss... a pig named Mini Pearl!

The week deemed successful after collecting a grand total of $8,700.

The school held a balloon release Friday along with a kissing the pig contest.

Wages was happy to see that the teacher he was rooting for had to kiss the pig in the end.
