WEST MONROE, La.- - (11/15/2017) If your cell phone isn't working, it doesn't take long for you to notice. Around 4 p.m. CST, several people in our building here at KTVE NBC 10/KARD FOX 14 noticed their AT&T cell phones wouldn't make a call.
It didn't take long for people on Twitter to notice as well.
We reached out to that last tweeter, @ChrissiQu, and she said she was in Sacramento, CA
KTVE/KARD Digital Media Manager Chris Brown found a solution that seems to work. Put your phone in airplane mode. That cuts off the phone from the AT&T network. Then, turn off airplane mode to reacquire a signal. The people in our building who are AT&T customers did this and their cell phones now work.
We reached to AT&T through their @ATTCares twitter handle about what may have happened to apparently cause thousands to lose service, but we have not received a reply.
