Hamburg Middle School students learn problem-solving through EAST program

HAMBURG, Ark. - 13 September 2017

Students down at Hamburg Middle School have plenty of reasons to be excited.

They've just received more than $150,000 in equipment for their Environmental and Spatial Technology, or EAST Program.

It gears students towards problem-solving while dealing with technology.

Students get hands on experience with virtual reality, 3D printers, and community-based projects.

Teacher, Hayley Cox, says even she has learned a few things.

"I'm really proud of what they've already done,  and it just shows me that we do need to let go of some of our control because they do have the capacity to figure things out on their own, and they can think critically," she said.

The program started at the school just three weeks ago.
