GSU comes up big in #BringitHome fundraiser campaign

GRAMBLING, La. - Grambling State University came up big in their bring it home fundraiser campaign.

The university was able to reach and pass their goal collecting a little over $1.2 million dollars that will go towards scholarships.

Some of the donations going to specific programs at Grambling.

Some donors gave as much as twenty thousand dollars leading up to homecoming and the donations are still coming.

Both officials and students say this will give GSU a much needed boost.

"Just to be able to set a goal of a million dollars and in four months reach that goal i think it does a lot for where we are as a university and the direction that we're going in," GSU President, Rick Gallot, said.

"I feel like that also gives us a lot of faith in our education system it gives us a lot of faith in our staff and our faculty," GSU freshman, Jasmine Harris, said.

Gallot says he's happy with meeting the goal but says he will ask the tiger family to come through with even more next year to keep the school headed in the right direction.

No word yet on any plans for future legal action between the two parties.
