GILBERT, La. - (3/12/2018) A Gilbert woman died Monday after the vehicle she was driving was struck head-on.
Shortly before 3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon, Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 128 just east of US Hwy 425. The initial investigation by State Police revealed 25-year-old Taylor Temple of Winnsboro was driving a 2011 Ford F-150 west on LA 128. For reasons still under investigation, the Ford traveled into the eastbound lane of LA 128 and struck a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 33-year-old Danelle McNease of Gilbert.
McNease, who was properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Franklin Parish Coroner’s Office. Temple, who was unrestrained, was transported to a local hospital with injuries.
Routine toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
