Ouachita Parish, La.-- - This week four men were arrested at the Motel 6 in West Monroe for allegedly soliciting prostitutes.
It's an issue that's not only making national news, but also headlines in the ArkLaMiss.
Chris Bray, with the National Criminal Justice Center, is working with agencies around the state like the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office trying to flush out John's, traffickers and others who profit or are victims of sex trafficking.
"It's very unsettling people are uncomfortably and a lot of people don't want to recognize or admit that it's happening in their neighborhood or their backyard," Bray said.
Ouachita Parish Sheriff Deputies arrested four men within the past few days for soliciting prostitutes.
The suspects includes Abdul Shaik, Carlow Furlow, Johnston Landrum and Thomas Page.
"This is kind of the topic that no one wants to talk about," Bray added.
In the separate cases, the men were accused of contacting a woman and offering her money, ranging from $50 to $75 dollars, for sex.
It's cases like these that have motivated federal, state and local leaders and authorities to crack down on sex trafficking.
"If you ignore the problem it's just gonna get worse and worse and worse," Bray said.
Bray said actions like these will hopefully bring an end to the issue that affects cities large and small.
We talked to the motel's manager who declined to comment on the matter.
Ouachita Parish Sheriff Deputies said this is an ongoing investigation.
Right now it's unclear whether or not more arrests will be made.
