FRANKLIN PARISH, La. - (2/27/2018) A local former educator is facing serious time behind bars for sexual crimes involving juveniles.
According to our news content partners at the News-Star, 41 year old Stephen Couch, formerly the principal of Apostolic Tabernacle Christian School in Franklin Parish, is facing five counts of molestation of a juvenile involving five students, as well as six counts of prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student.
Apostolic Tabernacle Christian School is a private school in Franklin Parish just west of Winnsboro.
On Monday, a grand jury indicted Couch on 11 charges of sexual misconduct. The charges involved five students who were under 18 years of age.
District Attorney Mack Lancaster says the felony charges carry between five and 40 years per count.
