Former Catfish Charlie's employee arrested for stealing nearly $18K

MONROE, La. - Monroe Police have arrested an employee of a popular restaurant after stealing nearly $18,000.

Kurt Hebert, 34 of West Monroe, was arrested on Thursday, September 21, 2017.

According to Hebert’s arrest report, in his year of employment at Catfish Charlie's of Monroe, he voided 2699 cash transactions totaling $17,908.36.

Hebert voluntarily spoke with officers for questioning on the incident on Thursday.

He admitted to the total number of transactions and the total amount of money taken.

Hebert stated that he would void cash transactions and then take the amount for himself.

He has been booked in the Ouachita Correctional Center on one count of theft.

His bond has not yet been set as of 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2017.
