WEST MONROE, La -- - Severe weather in the Ouachita Parish caused police to shut down roads after they were covered in water.
Cypress Street is one of the roads that was almost completely covered by water.
Sgt. C.J. Beck of West Monroe Police is urging people not to drive through any standing water in the streets until the weather settles down.
Police are patrolling the streets that are closed off to keep residents from driving into the water.
