NEWS STAR - According to our news partner, The News-Star, the father of the Monroe toddler found dead, 19-year-old Christopher James, was arrested Friday on a previous warrant for one count of domestic violence.
The warrant was issued on July 20 and was for one count of domestic violence with child endangerment, simple battery and resisting an officer.
According to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, James' bond is set at $5,500.00.
Monroe, La.-- - Monroe Police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old at Parkview Apartments in Monroe.
Executive Officer Reggie Brown said the death was reported to authorities around 1 p.m. Friday. A two-year-old baby girl was reported dead.
Detectives responded to the scene and conducted a search warrant on the apartment.
Brown said the death is being considered suspicious and foul play is expected.
He added it's unclear how the child died, and authorities are waiting on a preliminary autopsy.
Investigators are interviewing the child's parents and other witnesses who were at the apartment.
