Farmerville woman arrested after a slap in the face

FARMERVILLE, La. - A Farmerville area woman has been accused of domestic abuse battery after hitting a victim in the mouth because he would not give her a key to an automobile that didn’t belong to her.

Catherine Marie Reeves, 32, also hid from deputies and refused to come out from a covered and cluttered area on the Sarah Lane property.

Union Parish Sheriff Dusty Gates said the three deputies had to go into the covered area for the suspect because she refused to come out. She kept pulling away from the deputies when they would grab her, the deputies reported.

Gates said the suspect and victim had a verbal argument and that Reeves demanded a key to leave the residence. The victim refused and Reeves reportedly struck him in the mouth.

Reeves was booked into the Union Parish Detention Center charged with domestic abuse battery and three counts of resisting an officer. Her total bond was set at $3,000.
