Farmers Market on Tower collecting items for Hurricane Irma victims

In wake of Hurricane Irma, a local group in the Ark-La-Miss is stepping up to help families in the Sunshine State.

Once again Northeast Louisiana is extending a hand to help hurricane victims.

This time..... its' the Farmers Market on Tower.

The group is partnering up with Brookshire's Food & Pharmacy to collect goods for families in need. Items on the flyer include everything from power outlets and towels to dog food and cleaning supplies.

Hoping to help those families replace items they may have lost as Irma blew through Florida over the weekend.

It's something the organization says is only right.

"You know they collected for us when we had our flooding here and you know anytime we have hurricanes. So, we just wanted to return the love and now we want to do it for Florida. Because, we all know and have family and friends or neighbors that either live in Texas or Florida so we just want to support them,"said spokeswoman Deidra Adaira.

The Farmers Market will be collecting items this Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.

You can drop them off on tower drive between Newk's and CC's coffee house.

All donated items will go towards the "Flood The Love" campaign.
