Drag boat festival training

MONROE, La.-- - Groups from around the region will row row row their boats down the bayou for this year's Dragon Boat Festival.   

In-fit is offering on the ground, dry land training before the big day and its free.

Each team will be personally trained by working on the rowing machines, flinging medicine balls, and team building exercises. 

Paddlers of all ages and skill sets can participate in this event.

All proceeds will go to the Children's Coalition of Northeast Louisiana. 

"We have practice on the water the weak before the race where you'll get two hours in a boat learning how to paddle together, and then finally the night before the race we have the dotting of the i party there on the lawn right in front of the bayou," says Lynn Clark, director of the Children's Coalition.

The festival is held Saturday, May 13'th, starting at 9 a.m.
