Daycare goes on lockdown after man uses obscene gestures

WEST MONROE, La. - (3/16/18) A man has been arrested after deputies say he continuously drove by a local daycare using obscene hand gestures causing it to go on a lockdown.

Michael Disotell, 50 of West Monroe, was arrested Friday morning.

According to the arrest report, Disotell continuously drove by Small World Daycare honking the horn and holding his hand out the window using obscene hand gestures towards the staff and deputies.

Disotell then pulled into the parking lot of the daycare and got out yelling with his hands in the air as he walked around the front of his vehicle towards the building. Deputies told Disotell to stop and he took one more step towards the building. Duputies then told him to put his hands behind his back to which he replied “I will not” and resisted deputies securing him in handcuffs.

Disotell is currently being held in the Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of disturbing the peace and resisting an officer. His bond has not yet been set.

Deputies say parents were beginning to arrive and drop children off at the daycare when when this incident occurred. Daycare staff said they were very afraid causing the daycare to go on lockdown.
