MAGNOLIA,Ark. - Workers with Little Custom Homes are laying a new foundation block by block.
They are giving a brand new look to lots of lots in the town of Magnolia.
Co-owner, Nate Caldwell, says their goal is to provide quality, affordable housing.
"That sounds cliche, but a quality house, this is an alternative, not an alternative, but another option as opposed to a trailer home or a manufactured home," said Caldwell.
The houses are built in a factory and then shipped to their locations.
Little Custom Homes offers one, two an three bedroom floor plans ranging from 500 to over 900 square feet, giving home buyers several options.
While the company is just getting started on its first home in Magnolia, there's one that will soon be going up across town that you may remember.
The home where a newborn baby was bitten by rats more than 100 times, so badly she needed reconstructive surgery.
The home was condemned a few months back, knocked to the ground and hauled away.
Now, it's a clean, clear lot, waiting for its facelift.
"We keep saying this is a community project and it really is," he said. "The effort there is to take a lemon and make lemonade."
Caldwell and his crew are looking to make that lemonade soon.
"If all goes well, probably in the next 40 to 50 days we plan to get a house on that lot."
As they continue to lay their foundation, they say they want to help beautify the town of magnolia and help the town build brand new beautiful family memories.
